“A Murder of Books 1”

Some of my favorite work is some of the most difficult to photograph. In the case of these books, it would simply be too much to photograph every panel from every book. I can tell you, however, that I was never happier in my studio than when I was making these books and living within the world/s they abstractly represent. Each book, measuring 8x6”, consists of 13 panels (or pages or leaves), many of which have other panels sewn to them which open to reveal more beneath. Because people treat art so reverently and never dare touch it, these were made to be touched, to be handled, to hold in one’s hands in order to interact with, and even possibly subtly alter, the art with one’s fingers, one’s skin.
